THEME SOLAR SYSTEM SPACECRAFT MODELS: SOURCE, LICENCE AND MODIFICATIONS The spacecraft models served beside this file (craft-..glb) are modified versions of models from NASA 3D Resources, https://github.com/nasa/NASA-3D-Resources, at commit 11ebb4ee043715aefbba6aeec8a61746fad67fa7. They draw the "satellites" of the Theme Solar System mini on scanr.ai (/minis/theme-solar-system). LICENCE READINGS (BOTH ARE FOLLOWED) 1. NASA media usage guidelines (https://www.nasa.gov/nasa-brand-center/images-and-media/), which the repository's README points to and which call the assets free and without copyright: NASA is credited as the source of every model, here and on the page; nothing here implies NASA endorsement; no NASA insignia (the "meatball" or the "worm") is shown; no third-party material is used. 2. NASA Open Source Agreement Version 1.3, which the repository's meta.json names: the agreement's full text is at the end of this file (section 3A.1); the modifications are described below, dated, with their originator named (section 3C); the GLB files are themselves the form for modifying these models, and the unmodified originals stay freely available at the source URLs below (section 3A.2); no endorsement is implied (section 3E). MODIFICATIONS Originator: BagsByData, LLC (scanr.ai). Date: 2026-10-09. These modifications are derived from Original Software provided by NASA (the National Aeronautics and Space Administration), and their originator consents to their characterisation as a Modification under the NASA Open Source Agreement Version 1.3. Every model: - Draco compression, animations, vertex normals, vertex colours and spare UV sets removed. - Materials reduced to a base colour: foil ramp textures (256 px or smaller) flattened to their mean colour; metallic-roughness, normal, occlusion and emissive maps and material extensions removed; all opaque and double-sided. - Node transforms baked; meshes deduplicated, flattened and joined; vertices welded. - Centred on the origin and scaled to a bounding sphere of radius 1. - Solid colours combined into one palette texture. - Textures resized to at most 512 px and re-encoded as WebP (quality 80). - Vertex data quantized (KHR_mesh_quantization) and meshopt-compressed (EXT_meshopt_compression). - Every name, extra and generator string removed.
