Changelog Sep 17, 2026 - Country in scan results and quieter theme rankings
Scan results name the issuer's country of headquarters, the theme cards drop the size and float buckets that outranked real themes, and locked columns say they are locked instead of going blank.

Scan results now name where a company is headquartered. The theme cards drop the size and float buckets that were outranking real themes. And a locked column on the Theme Overview card says it is locked rather than going blank.
Country of headquarters, on every row
The scan grid carried a Locale column that read US on all 54,102 securities
carrying one. It was our market-data provider's exchange locale, so it could
neither sort nor filter, and it never told you anything. Country (HQ)
replaces it: a flag and an ISO code in the cell, the country name on hover, and
a second tooltip line reading "Headquarters, not listing venue."
The line matters. SONY trades on a US exchange and reads Japan. Southern Copper reads United States with every mine in Peru, Mexico and Chile. Where a company keeps its head office is a lookup; where it digs the copper is not, and no provider publishes that as a field.
About 5,900 names resolve, and roughly a quarter of them sit outside the US. The rest of the universe stays blank, because the source data covers US common stock and ETFs, units, warrants and preferreds have no domicile on file at all. That is about 89% of securities showing an empty cell, and it renders as empty rather than defaulting to anything.
Two column defaults moved with it. RS score is on now, since it is the one enrichment column no plan gates and every tier reads a real number from it. Pattern score is off, since it only gets built when a scan names a pattern model and was taking up width to say nothing on every other scan. Both stay in the column menu.
Theme cards that skip the size and float buckets
Theme Performance kept opening on a cluster that formed on risk appetite and float rather than on a shared business, and it outranked every real theme, because an illiquid name moves further in percent. Hide size & float buckets is a new dashboard setting on the web app. It is on by default, and the ranked cards say how many rows it took out, with a one-click Show beside the count.
Our classifier bands each theme, and the setting hides the band it files as size-and-float residue, never a label. Theme labels are free text and churn from one weekly run to the next, so a control that matched a string would break the week a label changed. That band is narrow today, and each weekly classification run folds more of the unnamed labels into it.
Theme History is a different case. Its legend is your own selection, so the setting seeds what that card opens with and leaves every chip you added alone.
Locked columns that say they are locked
On a free account, the Theme Overview card's relative-strength columns rendered as blanks, which is also what a theme with no coverage looks like. They now draw a blurred placeholder with an upgrade prompt, and tapping one opens the paywall instead of sorting by a number that isn't there. The slope column's old "not yet available" line is gone, replaced by copy that names both gates: the paid one and the history-length one. Web and app.
The two as-of dates moved as well. "Strength as of… slope as of…" sat under the card title and restated a distinction only a reader of the Slope column needs. The level date now hangs off the Perf. and Avg RS tooltips, and the slope date off Slope.
Also in this release
- Signed-out ticker pages serve from the Cloudflare edge. We also raised our market-data ceiling from 600 to 1,500 requests a minute, after crawler sweeps of the ticker universe pushed past it and had 37% of calls rejected, serving pages without their data.
- About twenty minutes after the close, the settled price reaches the ticker header. It used to hold the folded intraday bar until the next session opened.
- Short interest on a fund page renders blurred with an upgrade prompt below Super Pro. The old empty state was indistinguishable from a fund we hold no short data for.
- The scanners hub and its preset pages pick up chart art behind the cards and shorter card copy. A screen matching fewer than 25 names now publishes the count and a sector tally in place of the symbols.
- The theme classification endpoint applies the same tier rules as the dashboard. API tokens keep full fidelity.
