Two months in: our launch recap
Two months after launch, Eoin looks back at what shipped, previews the Time Machine, the pattern model trainer, market breadth and event scanning, and asks for your input shaping what comes next.
Two months ago, we launched Scanr.ai. We've learned a lot since then and shipped some big new features, but we're just getting started. I recorded a short recap of where we are and where we're headed, above.
What we've shipped since launch
- An iPhone app. The filter builder, plain-English scans, your dashboard and your watchlists, plus push alerts when a saved scan finds new tickers. Read the announcement.
- Theme charts that move. Theme Motion plays every correlation theme through time on the dashboard, themes rank by strength, and a ticker can now sit in two themes at once.
- More charting. Twelve new indicators, drawing tools on every ticker chart, and ETF pages built for funds instead of stocks.
- TradingView export for any scan or watchlist.
- AI you can check. The AI scan builder now shows its reasoning for every filter it picks.
Every release gets its own notes, so if you want the detail, the changelog has it.
What's coming next
The Time Machine
Scan the market as it stood on any day back to 2004. Pin a filter group to a past date and it runs against the prices and indicator values traders saw that day. Every group gets its own anchor: a fixed date, a count back from today ("twenty trading days ago"), or a count back from another group's anchor. One scan can then say "based out in the spring, breaking out now." This is the first phase of backtesting in Scanr.ai: first you find what the market looked like, then you find out what happened next.
The pattern model trainer
Most scanners give you a fixed list of chart patterns. The model trainer lets you teach Scanr.ai your own. Mark a handful of real charts where the setup you trade shows up, train a model on them, and scan the whole market for charts that look like yours. Your models are saved to your account and work like any other filter.
Market state and market breadth
A new dashboard card that shows what the whole market is doing: advancers against decliners, how many stocks sit above their 50- and 200-day averages, new highs against new lows. You can read it for the top 500 most liquid stocks, the top 1,000, the next 2,000, or everything listed. Breadth will be free for everyone. Deeper readings on volume, concentration and how tightly stocks are moving together come with paid plans.
Event scanning
Scan on what just happened to a stock, or what's about to: a reverse split in the last 30 days, going ex-dividend this week, IPO'd in the last 90 days and trading below its offer price, earnings next week. Results will show why each ticker matched, so you see the 1-for-20 split and its date without opening a chart. More event types, like announced offerings, will follow.
Help shape what comes next
Being part of our new community gives you a real say in where Scanr.ai goes. We're opening our first review pipeline on Trustpilot, and starting a testimonial program, so we can grow into a tool that traders actually want to use.
