    AI Terminal prompts

Requires SuperAvailable on: Web · iOS · Android

    On this page

The prompt library keeps the requests you send often, plus a set of official ones, so you can reuse a prompt instead of typing it again. The patterns further down show how to word a request so the AI Terminal builds the scan or finds the data you mean.

    Tour

    The library has two tabs:

    • Yours: your prompts in three groups. Favorites and Saved hold the prompts you saved. Recent lists messages you sent lately, so you can save one you'll reuse.
    • Presets: official prompts from scanr, grouped under Scans, Market pulse, Research and Fundamentals.

Both tabs have Search prompts… at the top.

    Use a prompt

    1. Click the library icon in the composer, or press Ctrl+/ or ⌘/. In an empty chat, View all prompts opens it too.
    1. Pick a prompt. It goes into the composer, unsent.
    2. Edit it if you need to, for example swap the ticker, and send it.

    Save a prompt

    1. Type the prompt in the composer.
    2. Choose Save as prompt.
    3. Give it a Title, or leave the title blank and scanr uses the first line.
    4. Turn on Add to favorites to pin it at the top of Yours.
    5. Save it.

A recent message has its own save button in the Recent group. You can also ask the terminal: "save my last message as a prompt called Weekly RSI review". It shows a card, and the prompt is saved when you confirm.

To change or remove a saved prompt, use Edit prompt or Delete prompt on its row. Prompts are saved to your account and show on the web and in the app.

    Prompt patterns

Each pattern below is a prompt you can copy. Swap in your own tickers, names and numbers.

    Build a scan

Name the measure, the comparison and the number. The terminal turns each one into a filter.

    text
Scan for stocks breaking above their 200-day moving average on above-average volume
    text
Find small-cap stocks with a bullish MACD crossover this week
    text
Scan for dividend stocks yielding above 4% with a payout ratio under 60%

Then refine it in the same chat. Each follow-up changes the scan and reruns it.

    text
Only keep Technology stocks, and drop anything under $5

A word like "oversold" or "cheap" works, but the terminal picks the threshold. Give the number when it matters to you, such as RSI(14)<30 or P/E ratio<15.

    Explain results

Ask about a scan the terminal ran in this chat, or one of your saved scans by name.

    text
What do these matches have in common?
    text
Run my saved scan Oversold large caps and summarize the top matches
    text
How are my saved scans performing?
    text
Which of my scans caught AMD?

Performance figures are backtests of the tickers each scan matched. The terminal says so, and names how long each position was held.

Research a stock or the market

    text
Give me a technical breakdown of AAPL: trend, key levels and momentum
    text
Compare the fundamentals of NVDA and AMD
    text
What's moving in the market today?
    text
Which sectors are leading and lagging right now?

On Super Pro, you can also ask for a stock's insider filings, short data, microstructure and regime indicators:

    text
Show me the insider filings for TSLA over the last three months

    Save, alert and share

These change your account, so the terminal asks you to confirm first. Turn on Let the AI assistant make changes under Account > Settings on the web before you ask.

    text
Save this scan as Oversold large caps
    text
Turn on alerts for Oversold large caps
    text
Pause all my alerts until Monday 9am
    text
Make a watchlist called Swing ideas from these results
    text
Share this scan as a link that expires in 7 days

    Get help with scanr

The terminal searches these help pages and the API reference, and can give you a button to the right page.

    text
How do I run a scan from the API?
    text
    Open my API tokens

    What doesn't work

    • Asking what to buy. The terminal describes what the data shows. It won't pick trades, size positions or predict a price.
    • Questions outside markets and scanr. It answers with a short "I can't help with that" and suggests something it can do.
    • Asking about your screen. It can't see the scan you have open in the scanner. Save the scan and name it.

    Tips

    • Start a new chat for a new task. The terminal reads the whole chat each turn, so an old, unrelated scan in the history can steer the answer.
    • Keep follow-ups short. "Now only large caps" works once the terminal has a scan in the chat.
    • Favorite the three or four prompts you use daily. They sit at the top of Yours.
    • Open an AI-built scan in the Scanner before you rely on it, and check each filter it chose.

    Troubleshooting

"Couldn't update prompt" and the old version comes backThe edit didn't reach scanr, so the library put the old version back.Edit it again.
