Chart alert lines
Available on: Web · iOS · Android
Your price alerts show on the ticker's chart as lines at their levels, so you can see how far the price is from each one. On the web you can also set an alert straight from the chart, and move one by dragging its line.
Tour
The ticker chart draws a line for each price level alert and two lines for each price range alert, one per bound. Paused and triggered alerts show as muted lines.
A % move alert has no line on either platform. It measures from the price a few minutes ago, which moves with every trade.
Set an alert from the chart
From any price:
- Right-click the price panel at the level you want.
- Click Alert at $X.
- The composer opens with a crosses above or crosses below alert at that price, whichever side of the current price it sits on. Finish it and click Create alert.
From a line you drew:
- Draw a horizontal line with the chart's drawing tools.
- Right-click the line and click Create alert at this line ($X).
- Finish the alert in the composer and click Create alert.
The alert copies the line's level. Moving the line later won't move the alert.
If you're signed out, the composer asks you to sign up or sign in, then keeps your alert.
Edit and move an alert
- Click a line to open its alert in the composer.
- Drag a line to move the alert's level. If the move can't be saved, the line goes back and scanr says "Couldn't move the alert, so it stays at its old level."
- A triggered alert's line can't be dragged. Re-arm the alert first, then move it.
