    Saved scans and scan history

Available on: Web · iOS · Android

    On this page

A saved scan keeps your filters and universe under a name, so you can run it again without rebuilding it. Scan history is the log of every scan you've run, saved or not, for the last 30 days.

On Super and Super Pro, scanr also reruns your saved scans in the background and can alert you when one finds new tickers. On Free, a saved scan runs only when you run it.

    Tour

Click a row to edit the scan's name, tags, folder and notes.

Your saved scans and your history live on My Scans (sidebar: My Scans > History). It has three tabs:

    • Saved: your saved scans, with a favorite column (the heart), Name, Tags, Created At and Folder. A badge marks a Time Machine scan saved on a fixed date.
    • All scans: every scan you've run in the last 30 days, saved or not. See Scan history.
    • Shared: the share links you've made. See Share a scan.

Filters and the column picker (top right) narrow the list and pick its columns. Right-click a row, or use its … menu, for Edit scan settings, Open in Scanner, View Details and Delete.

    Save a scan

You save the scan you just ran, so scanr can keep its results with its filters.

    1. Build your scan, or open a preset, and run it.
    1. Click Filters, then Save (Ctrl+S).
    2. Type a Name. Add Tags, a Folder and Notes if you want them, and turn on Favorite to pin the scan to the top of your lists.
    3. Click Save.

Alert me when this scan finds new tickers needs Super or Super Pro. With it off, a saved scan on those plans still refreshes about once an hour, without notifying you.

Once a scan is saved, Save writes your filter changes back to it. A dot on the Filters button (web) means you have changes that aren't saved yet.

    Copy a scan

To keep the original and save a changed version, load the scan, change it, run it, and use Save as (Ctrl+Shift+S on the web, Save as… on mobile). Give the copy a new name.

    Load, edit and delete

    • Load: click Filters, then Load (Ctrl+L), and pick a scan. Loading replaces the filters on screen. On My Scans, Open in Scanner does the same.
    • Rename, re-tag or re-file: click the scan's row on My Scans. The dialog changes the name, tags, folder, favorite and notes, and leaves the filters alone. With the scan loaded in the scanner, Filters > Edit (Ctrl+E) opens the same form.
    • Delete: on My Scans, choose Delete from the row's menu. With the scan loaded, Filters > Delete (Ctrl+D) works too.
    • Reset: Filters > Reset clears the scan's filters and keeps its name and tags.

Deleting a scan can't be undone. Its runs stay under All scans, without the name.

On Free, the Filters menu shows how many of your 10 you've used. At 10 you can still update the scans you have; delete one to save a new one.

    When a filter changes

A saved scan stores its filters, not a frozen copy of its results. The next run uses the scanner as it works that day. When we change how a filter behaves, the changelog says so.

    Scan history

All scans on My Scans lists each scan you've run in the last 30 days, newest first. scanr deletes older runs every night.

    ColumnWhat it shows
NameThe saved scan the run came from, or Unsaved scan. A rename shows up here too.
    Scanned AtWhen the scan ran.
SourceWhere it ran from: the app, one of your API tokens, or an AI assistant through MCP.
    TickersHow many tickers it matched.
    Run IDThe run's own id.

Click a run to see its tickers. For an unsaved scan, the list is what that run matched. For a saved scan, scanr keeps the tickers with the scan itself, so an older run may show only its count. Open in Scanner loads the filters that run used.

Scan history is on My Scans > All scans.

    Tips

    • Save a scan before you edit it heavily. Save as keeps the version that worked.
    • Put scans for one strategy in a folder, and tag them by style (swing, earnings). The Filters button on My Scans narrows the list by tag or folder.
    • Write in Notes why you built the scan. You'll want it in three months.
    • On Super or Super Pro, turn on alerts for the scans you check every day. scanr runs them through the session and tells you what's new.
