Mobile app (iOS and Android)
Available on: iOS · Android
On this page
The scanr app puts the scanner, your saved scans, the dashboard and the AI Terminal on your phone. It sends push alerts when a saved scan finds new tickers. Your account, plan and saved work are the same as on the web.
Install
- iPhone and iPad: scanr.ai on the App Store.
- Android: scanr.ai on Google Play. The Android app is available in the US, the UK and Canada.
On your phone, scanr.ai/app opens the right store for your device. On a computer, the mobile page shows a QR code to scan with your phone.
The app signs you in with a code sent to your email. There's no password to remember.
- Enter your email and tap Send code.
- Open the email from scanr and type the 6-digit code into Sign-in code.
- Tap Verify & sign in.
Type the code; don't tap the link in the email. The link signs you in on the web instead, and it uses the code up. A new email address creates a new account. Use the email you use on the web to keep your plan and saved scans. More in Sign in and your account.
Tour
The tab bar along the bottom holds five tabs:
- Home: your dashboard of cards. Tap Add to add a card, and drag a card to reorder it. The bell opens your recent alerts.
- Scanner: build a scan, load a preset or a saved scan, and run it. Results show as a list or as charts.
- Performance: how your saved scans have done.
- Search: find any stock and open its page.
- More: the AI Terminal, your Account, Scan events, Notifications, Language, Holiday themes and Help, which opens these pages.
The AI Terminal also has its own button above the tab bar, on every screen.
What's on mobile
The app covers most of what the web does. These are the differences.
Push alerts
On Super and Super Pro, scanr reruns your saved scans in the background and sends a push alert when one finds new tickers.
- Save a scan with Alert me when this scan finds new tickers turned on.
- When the app asks, allow notifications.
- Tap an alert to open the scan with its new tickers.
To manage alerts, open More > Notifications:
- System permission shows whether this phone can receive alerts. Open Settings takes you to your phone's settings if you blocked them.
- Pause all alerts stops alerts for 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours, 1 week, or until you resume. It applies on every device.
- Daily limit caps how many alerts you get in a day, across all your scans.
- Pause alerts on this device silences this phone only.
Every alert that fired is in More > Scan events, newest first.
Subscriptions in the app
The app sells Super and Super Pro, monthly or yearly, through the App Store or Google Play. Open More > Account to see your Current plan.
- Upgrade to Super or Upgrade to Super Pro opens the store's checkout.
- Manage subscription changes or cancels a plan you bought in the app.
- Restore purchases reconnects a store purchase to this account, for example on a new phone.
A plan you bought on the web works in the app too. The Account screen then shows Manage on scanr.ai, because you change a web plan on the web. If you pay on the web, upgrade on the web as well: buying in the app starts a second subscription.
Subscriptions and billing covers upgrades, cancellations and refunds.
Language and look
To change the language, open More > Language and pick Match my device, English or Español. The language you pick also applies on the web and in your alerts.
The app always shows in dark mode. More > Holiday themes turns the seasonal touches for US holidays on or off.
Tips
- Sign in with the same email on the web and on your phone. Your plan, saved scans and dashboards follow your account.
- Set a Daily limit before you turn on alerts for a busy scan. A scan that finds many new tickers can otherwise send a lot of pushes.
- Build long scans on the web and run them on your phone. Every saved scan shows up in the app.
