    Share a scan

Available on: Web · iOS · Android

    On this page

A share link shows your scan's filters and results to anyone who opens it. They don't need an account. Saving a scan keeps it for you; sharing hands a read-only copy to someone else.

    Tour

You choose what the link shows and how long it lasts before you create it.

    • What the link shows: Live values or Frozen snapshot. See Live or frozen.
    • Link expires: In 24 hours, In 7 days, In 30 days, In 90 days or Never. The default is Never.
    • Create link, then Copy link.
    1. Run the scan you want to share. It doesn't need to be saved.
    1. Click Filters, then Share results.
    2. Pick what the link shows and when it expires.
    3. Click Create link, then Copy link.

The link uses the scan's name when it has one. Social apps show a preview card with the name and the first tickers.

    Live or frozen

Both kinds keep the tickers the scan found when you shared it. The link doesn't rerun the scan. What differs is the numbers.

A snapshot stores what a signed-out visitor would see, so its prices are 15 minutes behind and it leaves out Super Pro regime values. After you create one, the dialog says how many rows it froze. The page then reads Values as of with the date.

You can make 5 snapshots an hour on Free and 30 on Super or Super Pro. Live links have no hourly limit.

    What the recipient sees

The page opens read-only: the filters, the results and a banner that says nothing can be changed there. A scan run on a past date shows its As of date on each group.

    • Signed out: they see everything above, with prices 15 minutes behind on a live link. Open in editor (marked free) takes them to sign up, then opens the scan in their own scanner.
    • Signed in: Open in editor loads the scan into their scanner, where they can run it, change it and save it as their own. Their plan decides which filters run.

On a phone with the scanr app installed, the link opens in the app, with Open in scanner to load the scan.

Open My Scans > Shared to see every link you've made, including expired ones. Each row has Copy link, Open link, Change expiry and Revoke link.

    • Change expiry sets a new expiry counted from now, or Never.
    • Revoke link stops the link working for everyone, wherever you posted it. It can't be undone. Share the scan again for a new link.

A link's choice of live or frozen is fixed once you create it. To switch, create a new link and revoke the old one.

    Tips

    • Share a frozen snapshot when you post a list with prices in it. The numbers stay as you described them.
    • Share a live link when you want people to follow the stocks after today.
    • Set an expiry on a link you post in public. You can extend it later from Shared.
