    Presets

Available on: Web · iOS · Android

    On this page

A preset is a ready-made scan from the scanr team, such as Low RSI or Unusual Volume. Load one and it fills the scanner with its filters, universe and sort. A saved scan is one you built and named yourself. A preset is where you start one without building from nothing.

scanr has 41 official presets. Each one is a full scan, so you can open it, see every filter and change any of them.

    Tour

Presets your plan can't run show a bolt and Upgrade instead of a radio button.

    • Standard presets: the official presets, grouped by type: Technical, Fundamental, Candlestick Patterns, Stock Events and Mixed.
    • Search presets…: filters the list by name and description.
    • Green check: an official preset from scanr. The date beside it is when the preset was created.
    • Badges: the style (swing, momentum, mean-reversion, value, trend), the level (basic, intermediate, advanced), the holding period (short-term, medium-term, long-term) and the side (long or short).
    • Bolt and Upgrade: your plan can't run this preset. Upgrade opens pricing.
    • Import JSON (web only): paste a scan payload instead of picking a preset.

    Load a preset

    1. Click Filters, then Filter presets. With an empty scan you can also click Load preset under the filters.
    2. Pick a preset and click Load selected preset.
    3. If the scanner already has filters, confirm with Load. The preset replaces them.

The scanner opens with the preset's latest results already in the grid. scanr refreshes every official preset through the trading day, so those rows are recent, but they are not a scan you ran. Loading a preset doesn't use one of your daily scans. Click Scan for a fresh run, which does.

Open in scanr on a recipe card and Run it live on a scanners page load a preset the same way, without running it.

Change a preset and save it as your own

A preset is read-only at the source. What you change is your copy in the scanner, and you keep it by saving it as a scan.

    1. Load the preset.
    2. Change what you need: add a filter, loosen a value, narrow the universe. On web, the preset's name in the header gets an edited tag.
    3. Run the scan. scanr won't save a scan whose results came from different filters.
    1. Click Filters, then Save, and give the scan a name.

The saved scan is yours: it keeps your edits and shows up with your other saved scans. Later changes to the official preset don't touch it. Free plans can keep 10 saved scans.

    Browse presets on the web

scanr.ai/scanners lists every preset as a public page, grouped the same way as the picker. You don't need an account to read them.

    Each scanner page shows:

    • What this scan looks for: the preset's filters in words.
    • A list of stocks that matched a recent run, with sector, market cap and today's price and change.
    • Run it live, Start scanning free or View pricing, depending on your plan and the preset.

    What each plan sees

25 presets run on Free. 7 need Super and 9 need Super Pro, because one of their filters does: a fundamental field, an indicator score or a microstructure study. The recipe pages mark those presets with a plan badge.

    In the app

A preset your plan can run shows up to 25 symbols from its latest run, and Scan runs it live.

A preset your plan can't run is locked in the picker. You can still open it from a link (Open in scanr, Run it live). The scanner then loads its filters, and the filters your plan can't use show a lock. The grid shows a sample from the latest run:

    • At most 5 symbols.
    • No symbols at all when fewer than 25 stocks matched, because any sample would be the whole answer. You see "N stocks match this preset" and Get Super or Get Super Pro.
    • On Free, the run is also older: 4 hours for an intraday preset, 1 day for a swing preset and 7 days for a position preset.

    On scanr.ai/scanners

Every reader sees the same page, signed in or not. The list comes from an older run, so the page never gives away a live answer. The page says how old: "Matches as of {date} · delayed 3 days · Live on Super".

CalendarEarnings This Week, Recent IPOs, Forward Stock SplitsNone

Calendar presets list scheduled public events, so they have no delay. A preset that needs a paid plan follows the 5-symbol and 25-match rule above on its page too.

    Events presets

Six presets screen for scheduled events instead of price behavior: Earnings This Week, Ex-Dividend This Week, Forward Stock Splits, Recent Reverse Splits, Recent IPOs and Highest Volume Since IPO. They sit under Stock Events in the picker.

Their windows roll with the calendar. Earnings This Week always means today through the next 7 days, so the same saved scan finds new names every day. All six run on Free. See Events and IPOs.

    Recipe library

The recipe pages group the presets by what they look for. Each recipe shows its filters, what to check in the results and where the setup misleads.

    Tips

    • Load a preset to learn a filter. The rows show how the scanr team set each value, and you can change one at a time to see what it does.
    • Save before you experiment. Loading another preset replaces your filters, and the confirmation is your only warning.
    • Read the badges. A short badge means the preset looks for weakness, not strength.
