Data
Which markets does scanr cover?
US-listed stocks on the NYSE, Nasdaq, NYSE American, NYSE Arca, Cboe BZX and Nasdaq BX. Super and Super Pro add OTC stocks and ETFs.
scanr doesn't cover stocks listed outside the US, options, futures, forex or crypto.
Is the data realtime?
On Super and Super Pro, yes. Free plans see market data 15 minutes late, in scans, prices and charts. See Data delays and market hours.
Where does the data come from?
Prices, volume and quotes come from US exchange market data. Fundamentals come from the quarterly and annual reports companies file with the SEC, and insider trades from SEC Form 4 filings. Short data comes from FINRA's short volume and short interest reports. scanr computes relative strength, regime scores, chart patterns, zones and themes itself from that data.
Does scanr work when the market is closed?
Yes. A scan reads the latest data it has, so on a weekend or a market holiday it reads the last session. On a market holiday the scan page shows a banner, and you get no scan alerts that day.
During market hours, daily studies include the bar that is still forming. A signal you see at 11:00 can be gone by the close. For an end-of-day list, run the scan after 16:00 ET.
What timeframes can I scan?
From 1 minute to 1 month on Super and Super Pro. Free plans scan daily bars only. See Chart timeframes.
Scans and plans
How many scans can I run?
Free runs 5 scans a day and keeps 10 saved scans. Super and Super Pro have no daily limit and no saved-scan limit. Plans and limits lists every limit.
Do my saved scans run when I'm not using scanr?
On Super and Super Pro, yes. scanr reruns your saved scans in the background and can alert you when one finds a new ticker. On Free, a saved scan only runs when you run it.
Can I build complex conditions?
Yes. You can nest filter groups and compare any study with another, for example SMA(50)>SMA(200). See Building scans.
Is scanr investment advice?
No. scanr gives you data and tools. Market data may be delayed, and we can't guarantee it is complete or accurate. Decide your trades yourself.
Devices
Is there a mobile app?
Yes, for iPhone and Android. See Mobile app for install links and what the app can do.
Does the app do everything the website does?
Most of it. The app has the scanner, presets, saved scans, the dashboard, watchlists, charts and the AI Terminal. A few tools are on the web only, such as chart drawing and API tokens. Mobile app has the full list.
Does my plan work on both web and mobile?
Yes. Your plan belongs to your scanr account, wherever you paid for it. Sign in with the same email on each device.
Can I use scanr in Spanish?
Yes. On the web, go to Account > Settings > Language. In the app, open More > Language. The language you pick also applies to your emails and alerts.
API and AI
Is there an API?
Yes. The REST API and the MCP server are a paid add-on, billed apart from your plan. See API and MCP.
Which plans include the AI Terminal?
Super and Super Pro. Super gets 10,000 AI credits a day and Super Pro 30,000.
Privacy and account
Do you sell my data?
No. scanr doesn't sell or share your personal information. Our payment processor stores your card details; scanr never sees your card number. Read the privacy policy for the details.
How do I delete my account?
On the web, go to Account > Settings > Danger zone and choose Delete account. Deleting your account cancels a web subscription right away. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription you bought in the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in the store first, or the store keeps charging you. See Sign in and your account.
How do I report a problem or ask for a feature?
Use Contact to reach support, or see Contact and feedback. To suggest a feature, click Suggest a feature at the bottom of the sidebar on the web. To report a data problem, email [email protected] with the ticker and the time you saw it.
