Subscriptions and billing
Available on: Web · iOS · Android
On this page
You can pay for scanr on the web or in the iOS or Android app. Your plan works everywhere you sign in, but you change, cancel and get refunds in the place you bought it. For what each plan includes, see Plans and limits.
A subscription bought in the app belongs to the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google bills you, holds your payment details and handles renewals and refunds, so scanr can't change or cancel it for you.
Tour
On the web, Account → Plans and Upgrades lists your subscriptions.
- Platform access: your scanr plan, its Status, its Price, and when it renews or ends.
- Upgrade or Change plan: pick another plan and see the cost before you confirm.
- Manage: opens the billing portal, where you update your card, download invoices and cancel.
- Manage in app: shows instead of the two buttons above when you bought your plan in the App Store or Google Play.
- API access: a separate add-on for using scanr data from your own code. See the API docs.
In the app, More → Account shows your Current plan and the buttons to upgrade or manage it.

Subscribe
- Open Pricing, or Account → Plans and Upgrades and click Upgrade.
- Pick a plan and a payment frequency, then click its button.
- Pay on the checkout page that opens in a new tab.
- Open Account → Plans and Upgrades and click Change plan.
- Pick the new plan.
- Check the preview and confirm. An upgrade charges the rest of this billing period at the new price, less a credit for the time you already paid for. A downgrade charges nothing today: the unused credit comes off your next invoice.
- Open Account → Plans and Upgrades and click Change plan, then pick the free plan.
- Choose Cancel at period end to keep your plan until the date shown, or Cancel immediately to end it now.
- Click Confirm Cancellation.
You can also cancel a web plan from Manage. The billing portal cancels at the end of the period.
A plan canceled at period end shows Canceling and the date it ends. You keep everything until then, and you can reactivate before that date. Cancel immediately ends paid features at once and does not refund the unused part of the period.
Canceling your scanr plan doesn't touch an API access subscription. Cancel that from its own row.
Receipts and payment method
Click Manage on Plans and Upgrades. The billing portal lists your invoices and lets you change your card.
Refunds
- Bought on the web: email [email protected] from the address on your scanr account.
- Bought in the App Store: ask Apple. See Request a refund from Apple.
- Bought in Google Play: ask Google. See Get refunds on Google Play.
Restore a store purchase
If you subscribed in the app and scanr still shows the free plan, open More → Account and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the scanr account you subscribed with.

Tips
- Change your plan where you pay for it. The app won't sell a store plan to a web subscriber, and the web won't start a checkout for a store subscriber, so you can't end up paying twice.
- Cancel a store subscription in the store before you delete your account. Deleting the account doesn't stop Apple or Google billing you.
- Cancel at period end, not immediately, unless you want paid features to stop today. You pay for the period either way.
