Stock filters test the plain facts about a stock: its price, how much it trades, how big it is, what sector it is in, and whether it gapped or has an event coming. They answer questions like "is it over $10B?" or "did it gap up 5% this morning?".
Stock filters read one number per stock. To run a calculation on its price history, such as a moving average, use a technical filter.
Tour
The second row is a stock filter. Its controls change with the filter you pick.
- Filter name (Stock event, Market capitalization): click it to pick another stock filter.
- Condition: Greater than, Less than, Range and the rest. Events and keyword search have their own controls instead.
- Target: Value or Price, on the filters that can compare with the live price.
- Value: the number to compare with. The tag beside it names the unit: price, volume or shares.
- Distribution: a histogram of where every stock sits on this filter. Drag it to set the value. Web hides it on narrow screens.
- ⋯: Delete, Duplicate, Disable or Enable, and Reset to default.
Create and configure
- Click + on a filter group (or Add filter in an empty group), then Stock filter. A row appears on Previous Day Volume.
- Click the filter name. Search the list (Find stock filter…) or browse its groups: Number, Select, Keyword, Event and Gap.
- Pick a condition and enter a value.
- Click Scan.
Type values in full. Market cap≥2B is 2000000000 in the box: the field doesn't read K, M or B. The row's summary shortens it again to 2B.
Compare with the live price
The four Previous Day prices and the 52 week high and 52 week low can compare with the stock's live price instead of a number.
- Pick a condition, then switch the target from Value to Price.
- With Equal to or Not equal to, set a tolerance %: how close the price must be. With greater or less than, set a gap % (min %): how far apart they must be.
Two real examples: 52 week high Equal to the price with a 15% tolerance finds stocks within 15% of their high. Previous Day Close Less than the price with a 5% gap finds stocks trading at least 5% above yesterday's close.

Number filters
Other filters
A gap row also has sessions ago (0 is the latest open) and within N sessions, so Gap %≥4 within 5 sessions finds a 4% gap up on any of the last five opens. Switch within to all to need the gap on every one of them. Gap rows also offer Crosses above and Crosses under.
Conditions
Greater than, Greater than or equal, Less than, Less than or equal, Equal to, Not equal to and Range. Range takes a minimum and a maximum, each exclusive until you switch on Inclusive.
The old Earnings Date filter
Scans saved with the older Earnings Date filter, which uses fixed dates, keep working. The row shows Convert to event, which turns it into an Earnings event with a moving window and keeps its timing and EPS rules. New scans use Stock events instead.
Plans
Every stock filter works on every plan. On Free, the scan reads prices and volume 15 minutes late. OTC stocks and ETFs are universe settings, not stock filters, and both need a paid plan.

Tips
- Add a size or volume floor to every scan, such as Market cap≥300M or Previous Day Volume≥500K. It keeps out thin stocks with wide spreads.
- Use Previous Day Volume in the pre-market. Today's Volume starts from zero each morning, so early in the day it filters out almost everything.
- Use Shares float, not Shares outstanding, for squeeze and low-float scans. Float leaves out shares insiders hold.
