A newly listed stock has a short price history, a shareholder base that is still settling and often a lock-up expiry ahead. These recipes list recent listings and flag the days the market suddenly starts trading one.
Every recipe here runs on Free. Their windows roll with the calendar, so a stock leaves the list on its own once it ages out.
Recipes
Recent IPOs
Companies that started trading on a US exchange in the last 90 days, with average dollar volume over $5M across their last 5 sessions.
Filters
- IPO in the last 90 days
- SMA(bar_dollar_volume,5)>5M
- How to use it
Sort by market cap and open the largest first. Check the listing date and the price against the first day's range.
- Warning
The 5-session volume test means a listing appears from its fifth trading day. Blank-check companies (SPACs) count as listings.
Recent IPOs: operating companies over $1B
The Recent IPOs preset narrowed to operating companies (no SPACs) worth more than $1B.
Filters
- IPO in the last 90 days excluding SPACs
- Market cap>$1B
- SMA(bar_dollar_volume,5)>5M
- How to use it
Save it as a scan. On Super or Super Pro, turn on its alerts to hear when a new listing joins the list.
- Warning
A company near $1B drops in and out of the list as its price moves. Lower the floor if you want to keep watching it.
Highest Volume Since IPO
Stocks that traded their highest daily volume since listing at some point in the last 10 days, among names averaging over $2M a day across 20 sessions.
Filters
- highest volume since IPO in the last 10 days
- SMA(bar_dollar_volume,20)>2M
- How to use it
Find the catalyst: earnings, a breakout, a takeover bid or a squeeze. Then check which way price moved on the record day.
- Warning
Record volume says how much traded, not which way price will go. A stock needs 20 sessions of history before it qualifies.
